How to Lose Weight and Feel Great Without Going Hungry at All!
Obesity arises when your energy intake is higher than your basal metabolic rate combined with your physical activity level. When this happens, out body converts this excess energy into fat. In the early days, obesity was perceived to be a symbol of wealth and fertility! Even today, some folks perceive it to be a sign of prosperity, which is utterly rubbish. Today, it has been scientifically proved that obese people are more likely to suffer from coronary heart disease, sleep apnea, type two diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, gall bladder disease and some types of cancers, amongst others. Obese folks have a weaker immunity against diseases as compared to lean folks. The main reasons why you could become obese are:
ý Over eating and eating high calorie food, especially processed and junk food.
ý Binge eating disorders.
ý Genetic disorders and abnormal hormonal imbalance.
ý Insufficient sleep.
ý Stressful mentality, depression, taking too much tension.
ý Couch potato life style.
ý Suffering from obese specific diseases.
ý Stop smoking suddenly.
ý Lack of exercise.
ý Dieting to lose weight and then eating too much when you canýt bear the hunger.
It is very much possible to lose weight without going on a hunger diet. Below are some of the tried and tested ways that can help you to lose weight:
ý Drink a glass of warm boiled water first thing in the morning, followed by a glass of regular water after 5 minutes. Continue to drink one glass of water every hour, till you go to sleep.
ý Eat 2 tomatoes in the morning as well as in salads with your meals.
ý Increase intake of fruits, vegetables, fibrous foods and low calorie foods.
ý Eat plenty of cabbage as it inhibits the conversion of sugar and carbohydrates into fat.
ý Eat at least 5 to 6 small meals a day every 2-3 hours, instead of 3 large ones a day.
ý Avoid high calorie foods like chocolate, ice cream, cheese, butter, sweets and other refined and processed food.
ý Try to avoid potatoes and rice, or reduce their intake.
ý Replace whole milk with skimmed milk or other low fat milk.
ý Avoid non vegetarian food at all costs.
ý Chew your food until it becomes almost like liquid before swallowing it.
ý Stick to steamed, boiled and microwave heated vegetables and avoid fried ones.
ý Extremely reduce salt, salty foods like wafers, alcohol and margarine.
ý Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, six days a week. Break it into half of cardio vascular (brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, etc) and half of weight training. Take one day rest in a week to allow your body to heal and repair.
ý Take a protein supplement like glutamine and whey protein, and some amino acid supplement every day, if you stick to your exercise regime.
Weight reduction ideas:
ý If you cannot exercise for 30 minutes at a stretch, break it into 2 or 3 portions and work it up gradually.
ý Fasting on lime juice ý honey water is extremely beneficial.
ý Detoxification / alkalization will certainly help your body to some extent. More important, you will feel great and full of energy.
ý Sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger. So if you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water and wait for 20 minutes. If youýre still hungry, try taking some whey protein with a little flaxseed oil, this should do the trick.
ý You should also keep some protein bars and premade shakes handy, at all times. This can be very useful whenever you get those hunger pangs and start thinking of junk food.
